Looks like a not so great day out there....

Indo ....
- Riots in Jakarta yesterday directed at ethnic Chinese
- 90+ bush fires causing toxic smog in Sumatra/Kalimantan
- stock market dropped over 9% overnight

BC ...
- Canadian Supreme Court has extinguished all provincial treaty negotiations efforts by ruling that aboriginal rights throughout the province must be recognized. There will now be years of legal uncertainty as the courts battle to define what those rights are and what land natives can claim based on "continual and exclusive occupation and use of land". This key phrase protects cities, etc. but leaves much more uncertainty about the status of remote areas of logging/mining/etc. IMHO it is most likely that these resource rich properties will be the first to be targeted for litigation. bummer.
