NASA Has a $3.46 Billion Plan to Ensure the Yellowstone Supervolcano Doesn’t Erupt

It would be unfortunate if they triggered a huge eruption.

Best to have ring-side seats as there would be no way to survive it.

As a resident MT'n now, you will become very familiar with it <g>

You are likely out of the immediate frying pan now in the Missoula area (not that you wouldn't "feel it"), but the worst impacts (ashfall) would be in the NW corner of WY/ID and wider spread ashfall in SE/W MT.... more-so eastern MT. The hotspot is migrating east (think East Snake River Plain lava fields from OR through ID) and Red Lodge is currently ~ ground zero....The global after effects....will of course be the major concern...but we survive these every few thousand years or so......
