MK, if you like office humor, how 'bout some historical humor?

Just thought you'd like a little history to put Valentine's Day into
perspective (especially for all my happy, single friends; author again unknown):

START BY REMEMBERING THAT VALENTINE WAS SINGLE. OKAY, HE
WAS A PRIEST, BUT WHATEVER, IN THE THIRD CENTURY A.D. HE WAS
BEHEADED FOR SUPPOSEDLY CONDUCTING MARRIAGE CEREMONIES -
WHICH HAD BEEN OUTLAWED BY THE EMPEROR- IN ROME.

CENTURIES LATER, VALENTINE WAS NAMED THE SPIRITUAL OVERSEER
OF A ROMAN RITUAL THAT WAS REPEATED EVERY FEBRUARY 14 (THE
DATE OF HIS EXECUTION). THE NAMES OF ALL THE REGION'S
ADOLESCENT GIRLS WERE PUT IN A BOX. EACH MAN DREW A NAME,
AND THE GIRL SERVICED HIM UNTIL THE NEXT YEAR'S DRAWING. THE
LOTTERY TICKETS BECAME KNOWN AS VALENTINES.

SO, AS YOU CAN SEE, THE HOLIDAY IS REALLY ABOUT MURDER AND
DATE RAPE.

Bob

MK, you still out here? Anyone else? Buying or selling lately?

MK, are you totally out? Noticed you don't post anywhere else. Don't let the thread die.

Hello?

Hellooooooooo!
