the US high school in HK is perfect for the Jack, and was for the Coconut.

the Coconut applied as her International Montessori School ("IMS") primary school did not offer classes beyond 6th grade at the time and we wanted her to attend a school where she would have considerable 'free' time.

the Jack when in grade 3 asked to apply from IMS to HKIS ('I want to go to sister's school') because he wanted to have easier time not-studying Chinese language with the intensity of complicated / traditional writing. Can say Jack was more motivated to switch school than the Coconut, even as the Coconut had no choice :0)

Coconut was simply accepted for the asking by the several school principals talking with her. The Jack had to take a test. Jack aced the test, his first A (94) ever.

Many good HS in HK, public and private, and the in flooding of mainlander students and parents enforcing the upping teaching / learning games.

HKIS is just up the road from where we live, so the choice was a no-brainer as far as logistics go (there is school busing by private contracting professional bus companies, but obviously closer distance allows for more sleep by the kids)

Besides, HKIS has a nice campus and is multi-faith even as ruled from Missouri

and and and ...
