I remember, even contemporaneously, as it was happening, there was confusion as to the origin of the shots. There were claims, of course, that it was the government. But also, many claims that the shooters were provocateurs from the protester side.

Lots of people got killed or wounded - but not enough to scare the protesters away.. but just enough to make them angry - and more persistent. Some spilled blood is known to turn a protest into something serious.

Katchanovski’s thread was about a lengthy court process about this issue. It’s over - and the jury was given 1 year to come up with a verdict. Sounds like they’re going to conduct additional investigations. I don’t know what the jury rules are in Ukraine. I also don’t know what it takes to convict - a unanimous decision? Less than unanimous?

We may never know.
