We have used DirecTV since 2001. I agree that their customer service is horrible now and has been since ATT bought them. Now ATT has spun off the DirecTV assets but they still hold 70% ownership. I doubt customer service will improve much.

But our home is quite remote. Satellite connections are our only options (we don’t even get a cell signal). It was kind of funny when I fired HughesNet and started with Starlink. The customer service person did everything she could to keep our account telling me that HughesNet was rolling out a new system. I asked her if they were going to deploy Low Earth Orbit satellites (they use geosynchronous). She said “no, we are going to use 5G cell connections”. When I told her we can’t even get a 3G signal, her efforts stopped. Something tells me HughesNet may not be long for this world!
