I did give it time to sink in as you requested. I am still not getting the point you seemingly are trying to make.

Are you advocating a return to the former Soviet Union?

If so, why not take a few more steps back? There is the British, the Austrian/Hungarian, the Roman, the Byzantine empire just to name a few.
