Earthlink has had something like a triple since August, I think.

From what I gather, the move is viewed as a result of a pending deal with Sprint but in reality a lot has to do with the assumption of internet traffic from The Microsoft Network at a third of current prices. Additionally, they have low-pricing efforts to lure AOL customers.

If one were already long Earthlink, it may eventually be a good hedge to short AOL against the Earthlink long.
