The Beast of Revelation is better known today as the Antichrist. John uses the word antichrist in his letters, but doesn't use it in Revelation. So his name will be used in his mark, likely a unique series of digits for each citizen with the Beast's number or name as a prefix. The reason John says wisdom reveals it will be 666 is because Greek uses its letters for its numbers. So the Antichrist's name will add up to that number. Also good to know about the predicted Antichrist/Beast is that he'll be a European or M.E. personality.
