Ken,

Great post.

I also have a followup/response to a post by Marlin a few days ago that might answer his question. I realize that options are generally thought to be quite risky and probably not something that you would want to be bothered with during the quickly developing movements of a daytrading day. This is especially true when the set-ups you have so clearly outlined are so much easier to follow than the analysis of options.

However, I think that it does deserve at least a post or two when it comes to "Tricks of the Trade". There are some very nice procedures that can be used if planned for. Rather than describe them let me just post one link to an outline that I have used very successfully. The post is by Jenna, who is developing into a very successful trader, whom should be watched carefully.

I recommend that particular post and that thread. Great stuff there that might also apply to the daytrading method of doing things.

Ken, keep up the great posts. I think I have added several percentage points to my profits as a result of your setups.

Happy and profitable trading,

Robert

Ken, here is a news driven pattern. TTRIF had a news release
on Wednesday February 11 about a deal with US Filter:

biz.yahoo.com

The price went up quite a bit on that day. Next day there
was profit taking, but also people started to cast doubt
on the accuracy of the news release. TTRIF kept going
down all afternoon yesterday. Then the company decided
to issue a follow-up news release to confirm the facts:

biz.yahoo.com

That was last night. Should we now expect a gap-up open?
The price should at least partially recover...

Thank you very much for a great thread. Please add me to
your e-mail distribution (koziol@gaas.enet.dec.com)

/Piotr
