One of the waste things I ran across last month was a contract to service data center SSD drives. They never fail, yet we were paying some yahoo's to monitor them and hot swap them if necessary.

It's totally ridic. It's like when people had only oil fired furnaces, and they had to have annual inspections for them because it was needed. When these were converted to natural gas, the annual inspections were still deemed necessary by the service pro's, even though they were completely unnecessary. It was just a way to keep printing money from the duped public.
