randy,

i was thinking.. it would also be good to "take some shares off the table" when the daily sell signal is generated.. so any pullback would not take 100% of the gains..

for example.. sunw is at 44 right now... 1 week ago, it had a high of 49-50...

i would leave some small position on the pullback in case the daily sell signal is minimal/wrong.. and the stock continues to go up..

any insight from you randy?

sometimes you can get tgt prices for pullbacks..

using the fibonnachi ratio of .38

for sunw 49-38 = 11

11 x .38 = 4.18

49-4.18 = 44.xxx

something to ponder...

but then again metastock has fibonacchi lines that you can plot.

another strategy is that when you have close to daily sell signal, go for a sell limit.. find the next resistance and sell into strength..

all speculation right now, but i want to do it in the future..

had some success but it does require some good planning..

and it assumes you know where the resistnace levels are <gg>

intc at 90 or so.. so sell limit there would have worked perfectly..

sunw resistance at 49-50 would have worked well too with the sell limit strategy.

and it applies if your stock is weakening. ie: a sell limit stategy for sunw at 43 resistance when daily buy signal was "Strong" would be suicidal, b/c you missed the run from 43 to 50..

a lot of ambiguities... that's why i have long walked away from a 100% mechanical ta system... how can you code those stuff into a system critieria? impossible

TA on the fly baby <ggg>

djia up 50 right now.. that's why i am looking at larger picture.. too crazy sometimes in this volatile mkt..

we may be overbought but if the strength of the mkt is high, then it will "overrule" that overbought condition.. too tricky to time it sometimes..

if it was a consolidating mkt and we were overbought, then that "overrule" condition wouldn't have been such a factor.

hope you are doing well..

one of my midterms has been moved up to 2 weeks from now.. im glad <g>

i got midterm in 3 hrs.. see ya.
