To all:

I've read this thread for a while now. I've jumped into and out of NSM a couple of times and lost money both times. Actually I think in the long run NSM will wind up as a pretty good investment regardless of how Cyrix performs for them. I just mainly wanted to say that I frequent a computer channel on irc quite a bit and justified or not Cyrix processors just don't seem to have a very good reputation among computer users. Leastwise not among the ones in the computer channel I go to. Admitedly a disproportionate amount of the people there seem to be be gamers, and both Cyrix and AMD are simply still not up to snuff in the FPU area and a lot of games require good FPU. But even worse, the general opinion is that *Both* Intel and AMD are superior chips. Cryix is simply going to have to come out with a chip that has superior FPU and it's going to have to perform well enough to start creating a buzz among computer users because right now 99% of the time I see Cryix come up for discussion people slam/degrade it. That's just not the case right now with AMD. AMD seems to have more than it's share of defenders in the group even though their FPU is not up to Intel's either. Like it or not, a significant and very vocal number of people base their processor opinions much more on how it runs Quake (for example)than about how fast it redraws a spreadsheet, and their opinions influence others. Until Cryix comes out with something comparable or superior as far as FPU goes they are destined to be an also ran.

Hey don't shoot me.... I'm just the messenger:)

Come on Cyrix/NSM.... put a product out there that will create some positive buzz.
