What's New in Parity Plus 2.0 ----------------------------- Parity Plus 2.0 includes dozens of new features, indicators and functions which are briefly summarized below. These features are extensively documented in the manual and help files. Parity Plus 2.0 Requires 32 bit Windows --------------------------------------- Parity Plus 2.0 is a 32 bit application and will only run under Windows 95. Changes in the Interface ------------------------ The look and feel of Parity Plus 2.0 has been improved significantly over Parity Plus 1.5 while maintaining the same program logic and layout to minimize learning. Most notably, Parity Plus 2.0 now supports a wide variety of Tool Bar layouts, including Drop Down Icons. You can also use the F9 and F10 keys to move through a group of stocks. Improved Error Handling ----------------------- Error handling in previous versions of Parity Plus was rudimentary at best. Parity Plus 2.0 now permits you to gracefully exit from most user errors in the construction of a formula and provides information on the formula causing the error. Parity Plus 2.0 also permits you to use the Escape key to exit from long running scans and profit tests etc. without aborting the program. Parity Plus 2.0 includes an Undo tool which lets you erase each line or marker you draw on any chart. New Charting Features --------------------- Parity Plus 2.0 now permits data files of any size. Parity can load an unlimited number of data points for charting, profit testing, scanning or data maintenance from any of the file formats it supports. Previously Parity was limited to approximately 8100 data points. Groups can now hold an unlimited number of securities. Added user drawn "Markers" which can be added to any chart at the click of the mouse. The available markers include a wide array of symbols and directional arrows. The Actions feature in a Study now permits the user to define conditions which cause a vertical band of a chart to be "highlighted" in a different background color. The number of markers which could be drawn on a chart by the Actions feature was expanded. The Undo tool lets you erase each line or marker you draw on any chart. Support for User Defined Functions & Programs --------------------------------------------- Parity Plus 2.0 permits the user to create up to nine text files named PPUDF1.RLZ to PPUDF9.RLZ which can contain standalone user defined procedures and functions as well as program code (for example DDE data handling) which will be executed when Parity starts. Any functions, procedures, or variables created by the user defined program files will be available within Parity. The program code in these files must be in the CA- Realizer 3.0 BASIC language syntax and may include any functionality supported by CA-Realizer including DDE, DLL's, and OLE or ActiveX controls. This functionality permits Parity Plus to be expanded to an unprecedented number of applications limited only by the user's imagination. No support will be provided for User Defined Functions. Added Composites of Securities as a Data Type --------------------------------------------- Added Composite Securities to Parity Plus 2.0 as a fully supported data type for charting, scanning, and profit testing. Parity now lets you define a Composite Security composed of any number and type of data files. Composites are similar to an index or portfolio of securities. Parity includes 9 different methods for calculating the Composite ranging from simple sums and averages to complex geometric and harmonic means. Parity also permits you to assign positive and negative weights to each security in a composite which permits complex spread and straddle strategies to be charted. Composities are supported as a straightforward extension of Groups and any Group can be used as a default composite. Composities can even be included in a Group or other composites. New Technical Indicators ------------------------ Indicator Function Description ------------------ ----------- Corr(d1, d2, p) Correlation Coefficient of two arrays. The p periods parameter is optional and if used returns the correlation between the arrays for the moving window of p periods. CoVar(d1, d2, p) Covariance of two arrays. The p periods parameter is optional and if used returns the correlation between the arrays for the moving window of p periods. GeoMean(d, p) Geometric Mean of array d. The p periods parameter is optional and if used returns the geometric mean for the moving window of p periods of array d. HarMean(d, p) Harmonic Mean of array d. The p periods parameter is optional and if used returns the harmonic mean for the moving window of p periods of array d. Median(d, p) Median of array d. The p periods parameter is optional and if used returns the median for the moving window of p periods of array d. Miscellaneous Changes --------------------- Added accelerator keys to most forms. Ordering Information -------------------- Parity Plus 2.0 costs $179 plus $5 shipping in the US or $20 shipping overseas.
