The Western industrial revolution occurred with hardly any participation on the part of Asia. Now, Asia is *potentially* poised to do the same thing to us. Not competing, not making sure we're still at the cutting edge - would be a start in that direction.

An example, to make it more real. Russia, China - and the word is, even Iran - have hypersonic weapons. With all the trillions in spending, how come we do not? Seems like a good question for congressional hearings.
