The Western industrial revolution occurred with hardly any participation on the part of Asia. Now, Asia is potentially poised to do the same thing to us. Not competing, not making sure we're still at the cutting edge - would be a start in that direction. An example, to make it more real. Russia, China - and the word is, even Iran - have hypersonic weapons. With all the trillions in spending, how come we do not? Seems like a good question for congressional hearings.
