The Colorado stopped feeding it last century.

Directly. It was vacation paradise for a while, back then. Still gets nasty runoff water from farms currently irrigated by the Colorado River. The Salton Sea is a polluted mess as it continues to shrink.

Lake Powell and Lake Mead are also looking at dire scenarios as the latest mega drought continues. It's happened before and will happen again, and humans have fuck all to do with it. The extended drought around a thousand years ago lasted much longer than the current one has, so far. And the ancient Anasazi weren't plugging in Teslas, either..
