I dont think the Chinese are stupid. Do you?

I do. This has been the policy from the beginning. Changing policy would be embarrassing to the regime. They can't show the peons they are fallible.

Golfer144,
I dont know what China is up to. Its an interesting situation. How do you explain it?
I explain it with detailed posts that you call "word salads" because you're too lazy to read them, much less comprehend what my point is.
I dont think the Chinese are stupid.
Of course their leaders are stupid. Authoritarianism and the concentration of power into the hands of the few leads to stupid decisions by people who fancy themselves as the smartest people in the world.

What do you think? That they're smart? That their lockdowns are actually benefitting their leaders and helping to cement their power?

Even PooTin is probably thinking, "That stupid Xi. He needs to clean up his shit and help me defeat NATO."

P.S. - The "peons" as you call them know the deal. They know that zero-COVID is stupid. That's why they're protesting despite the HUGE risks to their own safety.
