Brokerage firm initiates coverage on 3 largest food stores. Safeway, Kroger, and Albertsons. of the 3, albertson's has the most promising chart. chart.yahoo.com has tracked sideways for 2 1/2 months, waiting for a breakout...breakdown not likely. KR has already broken out from an ascending triangle pattern, and is now consolodating down to support level: chart.yahoo.com which would be a good entry point, with higher prices coming on the rebound off support. this economic environment the past 2 years has been superb for food retailers, who have been able to start raising prices for the first time, really, in almost ten years. Higher prices give then larger margins, and even a 2% greater margin in the high volume food biz has tremendous impact on earnings. Any one of these 3 food giants would be a good portfolio addition for 6-9 months.

AV -- Thanks for the info on Inger. I use dailystocks quite frequently and have overlooked this. So much data available there so it is easy to overlook. But thanks again for pointing it out.
