Ron,
I tried Microsofts Net meeting with my son who lives 15 miles from me. This was all internet and I found that if you talked before the other person finished it cancelled them out also. You have to wait for a short time them reply then wait again. I think these type of problems will be solved in the future and the feedback or echo you got may have been the line. This is still in it's infancy so things will be perfected as time goes on.

At this stage of developement most carriers all split to many parts.Depending on load ,time of day and who has bandwidth the calls at this point can be crystal or may be a little latent.As shorter routes and less switches are involved the call is clearer .It all depends on how its passed off.
