There definitely seems to be a resurgence in monarchist sympathies in Europe. There is an entire Catholic monarchist subculture on Twitter.

I think more people are coming to the conclusion that democracy is a failed experiment and are ready for Caesar. I am in the party of Cicero and try to make the best of the republic as long as it lasts.

Some countries would do well bringing back the monarchy. After the fall of the wall, there was sentiment in a couple of the eastern European countries for bringing back their king. Quickly quashed by the West, of course.
