The Republicans are going with a hard right candidate, a sheriff who Kari Lake approves of. Arizona is 27% registered Dem, 33% registered Republican and 41% Independent. Independents skew conservative. Sinema needs the liberals to win and the liberals need the majority of independents to win. Sinema put her own self-interest ahead of the Party. Arizonans do like common sense solutions, stability, nothing extreme. A lot of millennials have moved into the Valley and they are liberal.

There will be other candidates who will run for the nomination. Hopefully, one of the moderates will win and capture a good chunk of the independent vote.
