"are you using a novel definition?"

As in something out of a dime novel?

I thought I defined "Con" for you. Maybe not. "Con" means "confidence". It is a ripoff based on someone getting another's "confidence" then bilking them out of their money. I've seen one work up close and personal They're great at their craft, crooked as it is. I knew that guy was a legitimate con man going in, and he almost convinced me. It was impressive.

Trump isn't that. He is, in fact, almost the opposite of it. He is a first-rate negotiator, and that's why he was 10x the president Biden could ever be. Biden tries to be a tough guy. Trump kills them with honesty.

A con man would say, "I'm going to sell you this for $50 but I know someone who will give you $1,000 right now for it."

A negotiator would say, "I'm going to sell you this for $50, but some day it will be worth much more. "

Two different concepts.
