Centuries ago, Lithuania was a mighty empire, fearsome warriors, with their Grand Duchess starting at the Baltic and ending at the Black Sea. Not so much anymore. Their population is about 2.7 million - and seems to be declining. Too many young people are emigrating - mostly to other EU countries. As in all over Europe, their fertility is low. Not enough babies.

Around the time Pelosi visited Taiwan, Lithuania tried to establish actual diplomatic relation with that island. Not much came out of it. China got pissed and slapped them with some sanctions. In retaliation, little Lithuania sanctioned China - no Chinese imports allowed. Still a strong fighting spirit.
