OTA works. It’s like advertising costs but you only paid them for actual reservations.
Normal travel agency charges 10% commission so it’s not totally out of bounds.

But I have seen OTA charge non-existence fees like hotel/resort fees (we don’t charge resort fees) and that increases their cut to 25% or higher sometimes. (Agoda)
Booking Europe, Expedia US and most smaller OTA has been bought out by these 2.

Kayak used to be the most accurate (neutral) site but they got bought out.

It’s strange but vix is flat even as market goes lower.
