Joe and I think they also will face the delisting from Nasdaq like PNCL in the near future.

Re : "A Swing for the fences situation"

"Swing for the fences" implies some that sort of skill, preparation, desire will influence the outcome; this could describe situation for the institutions with their access to senior mgmt, suppliers, vendors etc. For retail investors such as yourself and others on this board this is a blindfolded roll of the dice where your opponents interests are not parallel with yours and at times will run counter to yours; i.e. sucker you in while selling to you.

>>and there was a lot of institutional interest.<<

CRN (Computer Reseller News) runs a "CRN Mutual Fund" contest. In the
Jan. 26 issue, the print version, of CRN they have the picks for the 1998 contest. One of the contestants, David Takata, VP Research Gruntal & Co., picked Syquest as a buy in the 6 month category.

The electronic version of CRN, URL below, still has the 1997 contest posted. crn.com

Additionally, Computer shopper recently had a review of removable HD's and they mentioned that SYQT management was hinting that a new version of the SyJet was on the way. FWIW

>>I was on the call yesterday.<<

Jeff -

I was very interested in management's statements about concentrating their resources on SparQ going forward. I certainly agree with them that SparQ is their best hope for a large-volume hit product, but it made me wonder what's up with Quest? I suspect that the company simply cannot afford to ramp up production of more than one product at a time.

Was anything said about Quest on the CC? Are they planning to ship soon?

Re: CC notes

Thanks for posting your notes from the CC. I think it's clear that we won't be seeing Syquest post a profit for the current quarter and can soon expect to see more dilution.

It was interesting to hear that they currently have one weeks SparQ supply in the channel. It seems they are not quite sold out. With total units sold now somewhere around 80,000 over the past 12 weeks, and around 40,000 for the past 6 weeks, it appears their production capacity has not yet ramped-up at all.
