Rat's first big quake, when he was almost 8 years old...

Jul 21, 2022
It's been described as a rolling freight train that ripped through Tehachapi at 4:52 a.m. 70 years ago this morning. A 7.3 magnitude quake shook up kern county killing 12 people including nine children.

I prefer the reports that say it was 7.6. This was Rat's 2nd big quake, an aftershock a month later.
The video says 7.5.

Hear about the 1952 Bakersfield Earthquake - one of the largest aftershocks ever recorded in California - from local historian Chris Livingston. See a collection of images and video taken immediately after the event, and hear from a local who was 12 when it happened.
