I like Chip. I knew him when he started StockCharts and wished him well and I still wish him and Stockcharts well. There is nothing personal in what I said, even though it is a sore point.

Stockcharts has a simpler UI which makes them more convenient for a quick chart. TV provides orders of magnitude more functionality. They are not even in the same town, let alone ballpark. But TV does require some getting used to. There is always some trade off between ease of use/simplicity and sophistication/functionality.

My big gripe with SC is that their software is just too buggy and their data has been unreliable too many times. That is why I switched (mostly) to TV. But once I learned their interface, I appreciated the extensive functionality they provide. You should give them a try.

BTW, TV allows you to export data and to my knowledge they have no gripe about what you share. They also let anyone have live charts - including the free service (though your minimum bar size is 1 minute for the free service). You may want to give them a try.
