Pads around the ZIP heads sounds like a good, robust idea -- and help keep the surface clean. Anyone know if there is a ZIP cleaning disk such as one uses with CD's?

Allen, Thanks a lot for getting an answer about the head issue.
What is interesting is they put these pads on both sides. Obviously
they have designed the Zip drive for portable use where it might be
banged around or moved while in use. Hard drives, being in a large
bulky unit, are less likely to get moved while turned on.
So Zips are designed for a padded, crash-proof landing. Very cool.
No wonder they seldom scratch and burn.
