It was a half-hearted port. The original Mac was written for the Moto 680x0 family...[stuff deleted for brevity]

Thanks for stepping in Russ, my thoughts exactly.

Thanks Russ for a factual explanation of AAPL's PowerPC MacOS

I sought Alomex's personal reason for his "half-hearted port" statement as I hoped it may provide some insight .

Using your reasons suggests to me that Larry Ellison may be incorrect when he stated AAPL's best asset was its "MacOS" .

E. Hancock , when she explained her OS decisions , stated Rhapsody (NeXT) would give AAPL a modern OS which was PowerPC RISC based .

While awaiting Alomex's response , do you think maybe AAPL's MacOS PowerPC port was limited by a decision to be half-hearted ?

Thanks,
Jim K.
