"Hate crime" No such thing. if someone bangs you over the head and takes your wallet it doesnt matter what race you are. Your head still hurts and your wallet is gone. The term "hate crime" is contributing to racial division in society. It basically says someones life is more valuable than anothers because of their race so the punishment for said crime can be worse. Bad policy

Wharfie, And some wonder why Asian hate crimes are increasing. No matter how much "wokeness" you inject into American politics, American culture, and American social media censorship, you're never going to eliminate prejudice. The fact that COVID-19 came from China will always spur on prejudice. And not just America, either, but across the world as well. You think Asians don't face COVID-related prejudice in Europe? Africa, especially the Chinese communities that pop up around Chinese-funded infrastructure projects? Even non-Chinese Asians look upon Chinese people these days with suspicion. Check out this YouTube channel, for example. Very pro-India, they insist on calling COVID-19 the "Wuhan virus": Tenchusatsu
