"It always amazes me that people can get excited about rat data since it is not really predictive of how a drug will work in humans," said Americal Securities analyst Charles Engelberg."

Oh boy.

I changed only one part of what I originally said Bob, but you will interpret what I say as you see fit.

So give me the examples of biotech companies that have supported high prices for years before their products became marketable.

But one reminder. SI is not an official site for people to get stock recommendations. SI is only here to impart information-whether good or bad- and for the individual to digest that information. If you don't like the info posted, stop reading SI. If there are out and out lies told, call people on it. But if I think LGND is going to go down or up, that's my opinion regardless of whether I back it up or not. Where were you last year when everyone was saying lgnd was going to hit 20? Don't take every word written on this thread so seriously. I can tell you that I don't. In your eyes I might be inexperienced, but I have two things to say to you: 1) sounds like you're a bit too emotional when it comes to stocks-as is a lot of other people-including me sometimes and 2) if you are so experienced, why do you even read SI? Your vast experience should be enough to guide you to the riches that the stock market has to offer.
