David, re: "can I get a motherboard at 100 MZ in the next few weeks"

Sorry, I doubt it unless you are a reviewer. Reviewers can get product in advance of introduction under non-disclosure agreement.

I really like and respect this system. It brings order to the introduction process saving everybody needless confusion and the wasted efforts required to chase rumors. It is awesome to me that Intel can announce a dramatically better processor with all of their customers standing on the podium with them, all able to say that their end products are available in quantity in their channels on that day of introduction!

they couldn't do it any other way. "Well we have this new 400 MZ chip available today, and we made 50 so far. Is there any demand out there for more." Customers would be beating down the doors like they did for Christmas rush for Tickle Me Elmo

Doesn't this sound a lot like AMD's K6 introduction?

For that manner, doesn't this sound a lot like the introduction of the Cyrix introductions of the 6x86, 6x86/mmx, and AMD's K5?

What amazed me most the supporters of these competitors interpreted these "shortages" as great successes. They yell, "Demand explodes! Demand greatly exceeds expectations!" Hah! Demand don't mean dittily squat if you can't ship quality product!
