My remarks concerning the potential of grass roots power generation facilities were meant to be interpretive of part of today's press release, and to show how BAT might obtain revenue to stabilize its stock valuation. I don't know any other way to actually bill a customer for energy consumption than to use kilowatt hours and megawatt hours. I have a kilowatt hour meter on the side of my house, and I have recorded kilowatt hour readings as well as megawatt hour meter reading for engineering surveys to be used in construction of new transformer substations. All of the details of any grass roots power generation scheme would be worked out by the entrepreneurs. The normal focus of power generation is on hydroelectric plants, steam electric plants, large diesel electric plants, and *shudder* nuclear power plants. I have been involved with all of those industries, except the last. I have even worked in a plant which converts bio-mass into electricity. But most of these forms of electric energy generation meet a lot of resistance from local land owners, and the EPA. And there is a long lead time from proposal to installation, sometimes ten to fifteen years. If small pulse charged diesel generators can be made to meet pollution requirements, they would only have to meet the global warming objections and zoning restrictions. They can be placed almost anywhere, and if there is some objection, well, just move them, they are portable. And, as long as the generator owner is a customer of a power utility, Joe is right: just plug in and get instant cash flow! The owner of the generator is obligated, though, to advise the utility that he is generating power to the grid. This is for the safety of linemen working on the power distribution system. Of course, nothing is free. But all sorts of lease arrangements and credits might induce investors to get in on the opportunity. Those windmills that I mentioned near Palm Springs are an example. The wind is blowing constantly, and investors get an income based on how many shares they own. There are thousands of these things spinning like giant pinwheels on the mountainsides and in the desert.
