RE: New Message Link in Bookmarks.

Brad,

Have you changed the way you keep track of the highest message number read?

I recently read just a couple of the new messages in a thread (and I might have responded to one--I don't remember), and when I went back to the bookmarks later, the rest of the new messages on the thread were no longer counted as new.

>>If you click on the ( 3 new )it will take you directly to the first of three new messages.<< Say there are 20 new messages in a thread, Brad. When you first included this feature you could read chronologically the first 10 new by clicking new and then next,next... If you reloaded you would still see 10 new. If I do this now the counter goes to zero, appearing like I had read all 20. Regards, squetch

Brad: Would it be trouble to provide buttons to make text boldface or italicized, something like AOL does with their e-mail?

Also, when in "respond" mode and copying material from the original post, how about fixing it so the material automatically shows up in italics when pasted into the response?

Or, could the pasted material automatically be enclosed in < > marks? That seems to be the preferred method here, but I spend a lot of time inserting them manually.

Just suggesting...

Brad, what I would find a useful option would being able to look at a group of entire messages on one thread. I find now depending on the time of day if I wish to look at say 10 new messages I will read then click and wait, read then click and wait. (sometimes its start reading, click and then back when the page comes up too quick). Is there an option to say display a group of entire messages?
Thks Scott

PS: Your site is absolutely the best and I am strongly addicted to it..

Brad:

SI is a gold mine.

I haven't read through this thread, so, please, tolerate this request if it's been made a zillion times. I could use the option to mark a thread "unread" after having called it up.

Under current configuration (please correct me if I'm wrong), if I read a message that is not addressed to me and I'd like to respond to it, I have no options other than to respond immediately or to remember it and respond later. Thus, if cramped for time, I actually print out the message and put it on my SI clipboard. Yes, you have a user that actually has a clipboard dedicated to SI, because.....

SI is a gold mine.

Thanks, Rick

Brad,

I have been a member for over 2 years and the improvement on Silicon Investor is tremendous. A suggestion: On People marks, when I select someone, I would like to write notes about him/her so I can remember why I selected that person.

Thanks
