No I am not military, I previously worked in engineering as a draftsperson. Early in my employment there a supervisor picked a tool after a review and as soon as the tool was selected 'look after the kids' had me ask for the tool in the center because it was not supplied automatically. I was only looking for file referencing and list (recipe) management. I was taught 'the dollars will look after themselves' and where I worked purchasing, accounting and construction was done by a number of people that used a large accounting software package. They required information from engineering. That tool in the center is where I think the instructions (food) are. If it was military though why attack those people (go up and "sweep them all away"). Where the engineer's instructions get swept away to is an interesting topic (there are no armaments involved though, with regards to my "being a duck" I refer to "respect the girls" and "the whole world is crooked") . There was a 'Request for Proposals' for 'a common engineering platform company wide' that was initiated by the accounting software people. A manager of engineering (division with significant portion of revenue) had a requirement that I thought did not look technically feasible with any of the tools that had been considered so far, the smallest division (fledgling) had a requirement causing the vendor I had been talking with to replace the supervisor's tool pick with a larger more complicated tool in their solution set. There was also a sentence, something to the effect of 'not to replace any functionality in the accounting software'. During a meeting with a vendor the presentation encroached onto what was being done by the accounting software people so I asked Paul if I should get her. When he approved I left the meeting through an unlocked door, walked to her desk, and verbally asked her to join the meeting saying Paul wanted her there. I did think the vendor solution set proposals were getting big. Seeing them was resonating with what I had been taught growing up, I had not yet started to arrange pieces though. Most of the pieces I had not remembered yet. After some time the company gets sold and a lot of things get reset. Later, in casual conversation late on a Friday afternoon with Kelly I hear something that resonates with me as a disturbing allegation regarding one of the company's engineers (chemical) - "She is doing the wrong thing". The whole casual conversation I forgot by Friday night except for that. I know that a tool had been mentioned in the past and IF that tool had been a requirement it could have made a difference in vendor selection . I'm not trained for chemical engineering and did not want to say that allegation to her, especially when I had no idea what she was doing. Monday is far away so I wrote an email using the company email via remote access thinking about the tool and the vendor platform structure. Monday morning I talked to Kelly and told her all she said was "She is doing the wrong thing" and to expect a phone call from the chemical engineer. I then phoned the chemical engineer and after a few attempts she answered the phone, upset about the email, and over the phone, I told her I wanted her to talk to Kelly. I don't know what they said to each other. I didn't enjoy the incident. "Sweep them all away", "Get a good sleep before a test", and "Respect the girls" could be applied to this topic. Kelly was my supervisor in the Master Data Management group, she also has a background in drafting, had 'lots' of years experience with the company, and had moved to work with the accounting software people years before she became my supervisor.
