How the new economy demands self-sufficiency to keep on making progress?

At the beginning of the creation of the new economy, we found that we can not live without foreign supplies. MR. Bush then president had to make sure that cheap labor from China can give us shoes inexpensively. Then we had drought in west Texas, cold in Florida, wetness in Kansas, and other freezing weather and migrant labor problems in California. Lacking self-sufficiency put us in shortage on demands. The new economy has to have complimentary economy such as Mexico and People's republic of China to support us to fight inflation. Even Japan has to be our complimentary economy to supply us with automobiles that we no longer have production capacity to satisfy America. Number of GM plants closed or sold is outrages. On the other hand, America now came back from zero population growth to renewed family growth. Big cars Americans produce, can satisfy the growing family the best. So, we do have hopes of regaining market shares for domestic production.

Self-sufficiency is not isolationism; but it is to build American strength in economy as well as in peace keeping. National security demands it.
