I hope and pray they find a solution/cure or preventative drug.

The company or companies to do that will likely be among the first $1 trillion+ mktcap pharma/biotechs.

There are smart people -and interesting ideas- researching longevity and senescence but am not aware of any leapfrogs on the immediate horizon. For a car guy like you, we may be closer to growing replacement organs based on a patient's own DNA. Your old Corvette has a perfect frame and good engine but the transmission died so you get a new one installed. Hopefully some day in the not too distant future it will be like that for most organs.

Stem cell and gene therapies are still early stages in many treatments but could have a lot of upside.
