Re: Young Folk Portfolio ... Withdrawal

Sometimes in life unexpected expenses hit and they come to more than what a person can come up with, this has happened and a withdrawal was made from this portfolio.

A CD matured this week:

2546732C9 Discover Bank, 4.05% due, 1/20/2023 - $8,000

That $8,000 was withdrawn this week with the expectation that it will be added back in 2024.

Re: Young Folk Portfolio ... Add On Buys

The first of the month cash contribution of $200 hit the Roth account today. Since everything is on automatic dividend reinvestment, the monthly cash contributions are all that can be used for add on buys.

I recently added MAA, VICI and ESS to this portfolio with the objective of having real estate represent 12-15% of the portfolio value. These REIT's are the smallest positions in the Young Folk Portfolio and I want to start building them up in size.

Today I had enough cash to buy:

MAA - 1 share @ $165.50
VICI - 1 shares @ $34.10

Here is what the REIT portion of this portfolio currently looks like after today's add on buys.

REIT Balance: $36,935
Annual Income: $1,242
Dividend Yield: 3.36%
Dividend Growth: 7.0%

Real Estate currently represents 10% of the portfolio value.

HOLDINGS:

O ......... $8293
PLD ..... $7589
LSI ....... $6309
DHI ...... $5763*
VICI ..... $3042
MAA .... $3001
ESS ..... $2939

*DHI is a home builder and not a REIT but it made sense to me to have a home builder as part of a real estate portfolio.

-------------------------------------

January Dividends (all reinvested):

ROTH:

TU ...... $76.85
MKC ... $20.69
ESS .... $26.40
O ........ $30.38
TMO ... $3.31
LSI ...... $70.07
MAA .... $23.80
---------------------
Total ... $251.50

Taxable Account:

ADP .... $65.84
PEP .... $69.63
DG ...... $23.52
*CD ..... $27.52
SYY ..... $49.61
-----------------------
Total ... $236.12

Grand Total ... $487.62

*Interest from a CD maturing.
