A close friend was born in Naples, and grew up in Brooklyn. He's the one who recommended the series to me. He told me at Thanksgiving that he brought it up to his mother. She shrugged her shoulders. Said nothing. He said, "Ma! It's about the old country, they are speaking our dialect, its about the relationships between men and women, how you and Papa lived before coming to NY." She responded, "Right. I don't need to be reminded. I lived through it." LOL! Stick with it. Gets better and better. I think about it often, actually.
