bob oserin: Darn it, Bob .. you're just providing more fuel to stoke the fires caused by those FBN rumors that have been spreading.

If everybody talks about acquisitions, it makes it harder for us at FBN to sneak one or two in while nobody is looking.

Johnny come lately.....

He may a great economist, but where the hell has he been for the past two years???

Ed Yardeni far exceeds Seidman's insight by a wide margin.

Btw, rumour is that if Asia can't get its Y2K act together their financial and securities markets will be decoupled from those of the US. (from a very reputable source who was at one of these discussions)

Regards,

Ron

Bob, as you probably know the EMU has its own substantial software problem of currency adjustment. Peoplesoft among others is working in that area. A purchase of an Italian product with French, Dutch, and German contribution will have to have multiple calculations of payment through the banking systems. The priority is y2k then EMU of course, but each is important.
