The neocons don't do a very good job of hiding their tracks.

Another Russian mobilization on the way, according to Institute for the Study of War.

cnbc.com

What is this Institute?

Take a look at its "who we are" page:

understandingwar.org

Founder: Dr. Kimberly Kagan

Who is Kimberly Kagan?

She's married to Frederick Kagan.

Who is Frederick Kagan? A big time neocon:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frederick_Kagan

Who is Robert Kagan? Frederick Kagan's brother. Another big-time neocon. Married to, drumroll, please, the infamous Virginia Nuland. Who is now perched in a very powerful position at the State Department as Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs.

Their dad was Donald Kagan. The grand-daddy of all neocons:

https://apnews.com/article/europe-arts-and-entertainment-d8745b078b9d515e5a75a573d9216fe4

In 1997, Kagan joined Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld and other future George W. Bush administration officials in endorsing the neo-conservative Project for a New American Century and its mission statement calling for a “Reaganite policy of military strength and moral clarity.” Donald and son Frederick Kagan collaborated in 2000 on “While America Sleeps: Self-Delusion, Military Weakness, and the Threat to Peace Today,” which received heightened attention after the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

Oh, I almost forgot that William Kristol, another warmonger, is on the Institute's Board.

Does the Institute for the Study of War have an agenda?

Maybe.

LOL!

New Zealand Prime Minister Ardern Announces Shock Resignation

New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern announced she will step down in a shock resignation less than 10 months out from a general election.

Ardern doesn’t have the energy or inspiration to seek re-election later this year, she told reporters Thursday in Napier where her Labour Party is holding a caucus meeting. She named the election date as Oct. 14.

“I have given my absolute all to being Prime Minister but it has also taken a lot out of me,” she said. “You cannot and should not do the job unless you have a full tank, plus a bit in reserve for those unplanned and unexpected challenges that inevitably come along. Having reflected over summer I know I no longer have that bit extra in the tank to do the job justice. It’s that simple.”

Ardern was expected to seek a third term at this year’s general election, although she faced an uphill battle as memories fade of her strong leadership during the early stages of the pandemic and voters focus on the soaring cost of living and a darkening economic outlook. The central bank is forecasting as recession this year as it hikes interest rates at record pace to regain control of inflation.

Ardern will remain a member of parliament until April to avoid a by-election.

The Labour caucus will move to elect a new leader, with a vote scheduled for Jan. 22 to gauge whether one person has two-thirds support. If no-one has that level of support, the contest will go to the wider party membership. It is expected that process will conclude no later than Feb. 7.

AcGregor has this interesting thesis that nuclear weapons were very valuable in the past because the weapons of the time had no precision. As he says, you would point your cannon in a certain direction, take your best shot - and if you were lucky, you would hit the target. Nuclear weapons were valuable because they were so powerful that even if you missed the intended target by a mile, everything would be destroyed anyway.

Nowadays, precision weapons can accomplish what needs to be done with a great degree of reliability.

So, that’s good news. Maybe eliminating entire great cities and populated territories may no longer be necessary. This makes nukes mostly a retaliation weapon - allows a nation to answer in kind if they’re attacked.

We shall see (but I hope we never find out).

Thanks! That was a great talk by Dr. MacGregor. Not long ago he had a very interesting 3 part conversation with a military historian by the name Michael Vlahos. It was very good. I think many people here may have heard it. If interested, I would try to find it and post it again.

Never mind. Here it is. Parts 1 through 3.

What does Ron say? Typo...= Hey east does Ron DeSantis say,? Is he a moron too or has he said to stop it? Maybe he is just minding Florida, but if so, he should avoid a nuke tsunami ... Florida is a excellent tsunami target = nice and flat, with coastal construction. He should back McGregor and demand settlement forthwith.

Americans with sense need to call a halt.

Perhaps Ron has already said what he thinks. I don't know.
