>>sure, but the idea was to short naked, create panic selling and cover at squatters' prices.<<

Not too different from the idea of releasing news after the market on Friday, hyping the stock all week end and then dumping shares into the rally on Monday. I would be curious to know why the company chose to post a news release when they seemingly are unprepared to answer questions about the "merger" No details of the financial arrangements were included in the announcement. Calls to the company were answered " Liberty Capital" until Monday when it was answered "Travis Industries". Then callers were informed that the location, business and phone numbers of Planet Sports and Next Level were confidential and could not be disclosed. What was the purpose of the news release if not to attempt to inflate the price?

sure, but the idea was to short naked, create panic selling and cover at squatters' prices.

This is where you're confusing me. Are you asserting that the MMs shorted more shares on Monday than actually exist? If so, what basis do you have for that assertion?

Doesn't it make more sense that they shorted the stock at the open on Monday and covered those shorts later in the day when folks sold those shares back to them for a loss?

Or are you saying that more shares were bought in the first hour Monday than the total that have been sold since. If this were true, I'd say you have a case. Otherwise, it just wouldn't hold water.

Sadly, I thought this company was going to be about fundamentals, but unfortunately it doesn't appear to be.

Pugs:

Did you ever think if you didn't hype it so much it suggested for people to buy that there wouldn't have been a shorting opportunity for the evil MM's.

Hmmmmm... It looks to me like you're the one working for the evil shorters. You pumped everyone of your cronies up so and told the MM's it was coming so they could short it and buy it back later.

You may say that's nuts, but it's just as likely the truth as Tonto, SM, DD, TG, TLW, MK, et al., working for the evil MMs.
