Everyone should have to wait tables for six months before age 18 to understand what a tough job and business it is. You couldn't pay me any amount of money to work in a kitchen, and managing one is an ongoing nightmare most of the time. I am fine with good, simple, tasty food served over a counter to me. Most places will have better meat than I would get myself, and the range of spices and sauces is what really makes the difference. The ambiance of a $500 dinner establishment? Not so much.
