Sean: You would have to ask ABX those questions, but for all we know, they may be following the example of TVX who announced today that they are doing just that, due to their belief that GOLD HAS BOTTOMED.

It would be nice to get someone who really understands this to post, but I believe that Barrick will unwind their hedge by delivering gold from their own production to the holder of the long side of the hedge position. The hedge is there to give Barrick a floor price for their gold production. If gold were to zoom upwards, above their hedge strike price, Barrick would limiting their profits with the hedge.
