Kievan Rus’ was where ancient Russia started. It was conquered by a Chingiz khan because the Rurih
dynasty could not decide on the king. A lot of princes but no king. Some 200 years Russia was under Mongolian rule until Ivan the Great united the princes. Russia lost wars, but I will quote Medvedev a bit ago.

“ Tomorrow, at NATO's Ramstein base, the great military leaders will discuss new tactics and strategies, as well as the supply of new heavy weapons and strike systems to Ukraine. And this was right after the forum in Davos, where underdeveloped political party-goers repeated like a mantra: "To achieve peace, Russia must lose."

And it never occurs to any of the poor to draw the following elementary conclusion from this: the loss of a nuclear power in a conventional war can provoke the outbreak of a nuclear war. The nuclear powers did not lose major conflicts on which their fate depends.
But this should be obvious to anyone. Even to a Western politician who has retained at least some trace of intelligence.”

Medvedev calls Ukraine “little Russia”, and again Arestovich said in his interview Putin went into Ukraine not wanting to kill a single Ukrainian, but then the realities of war took over. Russia is preparing to take on NATO,
using the same strategy as ww2. Big time militarization. The industrial base in Siberia is making lots of weapons. I am not sure what they are thinking, and Putin’s term is up in the Spring of 2024. Nobody can get to be President of Russia for more than 2 terms, according to constitutional amendment, so after Spring 2024 somebody else will rule Russia with the iron fist.
