I had the exact feeling when I saw this, it appeared like Trudeau's handlers said it was all up and you better issue a really good mea culpa but you probably will not recover.

Not only did he recover but he kept on doing insanely stupid things.

The only affect Trudeau has on my life is I can no longer legally use a plastic straw, unless I go to Burger King that for some reason keeps handing them out.

What Trudeau knows is that the Canadian electorate is like a capricious god, (or parent), and can turn on a dime both nationally and provincially. Look at, (E.g.), the 1984 and 1993 federal elections.
