Gregor--very important, and I know this is true. Always answer the devil in scripture. We have the Lord's example. He didn't reason, He didn't try to convert, He just said it is written. That is the key.

It is Written. That is the only power we as humans have over anything of hell. The blood of Jesus is the only victory. Everything else will not work. Just the Blood of Jesus and the Word of God. The Sword.

I just realized the chat rooms are old satanists prowling for children.

Am appauled that I haven't thought about it sooner.

Gregor, just a suggestion (admittedly coming from someone far less spiritually mature and wise). If the goal is to reach those who may be in the room "just browsing", ie the younger ones who may not be sure about spiritual things and are just trying things out, using the kind of "Christian jargon" we use here may be counterproductive. I'm not sure, but if you were using terms like "binding them in the name of Jesus" that may have made you sound so strange to them that it may even have been counterproductive. To someone like you or me who goes to a Pentecostal church, that kind of talk sounds natural; to most folks it doesn't.
There's a "new age shop" that was in my local paper recently. They were laughing about "drive-by rebukings". Apparently someone comes by once in a while, opens the door, and yells "I rebuke you in the name of Christ"! It sounds so weird to them that they take it as a big joke. Nobody is saved.
I guess my point is that if I were trying to minister to a group of Cubans I would speak Spanish. If I were trying to minister to a group of unbelievers I would use language with which they are comfortable.
I feel odd saying this to one who has won many more souls than I. If not apparent, please be assured the above is said not only in love, but in great respect.
In Christ, Ken.
