Scott if I understand you right:

* DirecPC is $79.95 per month OR...$959.40 per year.

* My ISP unlimited is $19.95 per month OR...$239.40 per year.

I not going to count the cost of the phone since I'd have it anyway (teenagers).

So we add:

$959.40
$239.40
_______

$1198.80 Total per year.

Divided by 12 months equals $99.90 per month...That's what my cost would be...or more if I add the phone costs.

Now am I understanding this correctly?

Scott,

Thanks for posting your DirecPC info. They seem to be getting their pricing down to something a little more reasonable. I get unlimited ISDN for $65/month, actually $10 or so higher with all the taxes and stuff. DSL is coming to my area and will be priced like the Phoenix area is currently. I will switch over to DSL when it gets here and will sign up for the 390kbps service. There has been a lot of negative press about DSL but considering that 500,000 people in Phoenix have access to it I think that proves that the technological hurdles can be dealt with.

I posted an email I received from MegaBit services below.

Good luck with DirecPC

Derek,

Please excuse our delay in responding to your request for more
information about MegaBit Services. Our offering for high-speed access to the Internet has generated many inquiries, and we have not been able to get back to you as quickly as we would like.

We appreciate your interest in MegaBit Services, and as it becomes
available, we will continue to offer updated service information on our Web site:
uswest.com

Your question was:

I currently use ISDN and am interested in ADSL. I'm aware it is only
available in Phoenix at this time. What I would like to know does the
rates you quote include per minute usage charges or are they a flat
rate? I cannot seem to locate that info.

My answer is:

One of the advantages of using MegaBit Services is that there are no per minute usage charges. Our services are always up and running and you don't need to worry about exorbitant usage charges. This is a flat rate service offering with one non-recurring installation charge and a fixed monthly fee.

Thank you again for your inquiry regarding our services. We are excited about this new product suite and look forward to the deployment of MegaBit Services in your area soon.

Sincerely,
Sara Gaillard
