Barry......I think there was early built in sentiment before the open on
CPQ because of that article in Wall Street Journal suggesting there could be a problem with the merger.....However, in addition to Painter's comments, there was the positive comments made by the analyst (chief executive) at high-tech consultant firm, Regent Associates, Ltd., Peter Rowell. He was hashing out the positive and negatives of Computer Science and Computer Associates deal ( mostly negative he thought) BUT said the merger of DEC with Compaq was FUNDAMENTALLY SOUND.......When "everyone" digests all the news and sees CPQ is still going to be the company of the future .....we'll back on the upswing-----beginning tomorrow?.......George

Barry: As they say,'when you got IT you got IT,and from the looks of it she ain't got IT. <<gg>>>. May be some day.....

I am referring to your comment:

Why is it when the Painter talks bad, stocks tumble, and when she reiterates "buys", CPQ tumbles?
