Tom,

Where does the other offsetting debit for the expense of factoring go when one sells Receivables for cash. Is it an expense or considered a contra account like allowance for uncollectible? What?

Factoring acct receivables makes sense if it improves profits - this is Mason's reasoning as CFO. I don't think the WSJ writer knows diddly about finance and how to improve the balance sheet. Nothing but garbage info from the article. Nothing to worry about, the stock will bounce soon.
